Construction is well underway on the third Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis and the 300th House in the world. The newest Ronald McDonald House will be located on the campus of St. John’s Mercy Children’s Hospital and will be a 20 bedroom, 3-story house encompassing 18,188
square feet.
The first floor will consist of community space (kitchen, living room, dining room, and play areas) and office space. There will also be the House Parent apartment and an overnight staff sleep room.
The second floor will have 11 bedrooms, each with a private bath and a small lounge area and the third floor will have 6 bedrooms, each with a private bath.The basement will include not only 3 additional bedrooms that can be private suites for our long-term families, but also storage, a laundry room, and a large recreational area.
With the footings and foundation complete, we anticipate things really taking off with the break in weather. Incredible support from in-kind donors and the in-kind donations continue to aid in the construction of this house.
